The curriculum of this Playwriting/Screenwriting camp includes the study of the dramatic structure of short and full-length plays, screenplays and teleplays. Designed as a camp that absorbs each camper in character, structure, form and plot of the written play, screenplay or teleplay, the camp holds a few surprises that will make the experience a memorable one for each camper. Campers develop, discuss, write and even perform the written word, working towards an understanding of what it takes to bring the imagination of the mind to the fruition of performance. Writers will also work with actors to present their writing as a work in progress on the last day of camp. The faculty are all working writers who bring their years of experiences and expertise to nurture the creativity in the new playwrights and screenwriters of the next generation. The program will be taught within an active working Hollywood studio. Campers are encouraged to bring their own laptops and cassette tape recorders.
