Are you on your way to becoming a “triple threat”? How about making it a “Quadruple Threat” by learning how to work as a musical theater artist in front of the camera? Musical Theater in film is making a big come-back. You’ve seen it in La La Land and The Greatest Showman. Now USPA can help you get ready for the next one! Our Musical Theater Camp is designed to hone students’ essential skills so they are prepared for the demands of a career not only on Broadway, but on TV and Film. Campers will take part daily in intensive voice, acting, and dance workshops taught by outstanding Broadway and Hollywood musical theater artists. Our Musical Theater Camp curriculum consists of workshops that will focus on acting, improvisation, scene and song study, and interpretation. Students will have daily classes in vocal instruction, dance for musical theater, audition techniques, performance analysis, and a brief history of musical theater on stage and film. The culmination of the week will be a “work in progress” film showing on the last day of camp accompanied by a live performance. Students are assessed on the first day of the program and are grouped accordingly by ability. Our Musical Theater faculty works closely with students, giving one-on-one feedback to address individual strong points and weaknesses. Our program provides instruction for all levels- beginner to advanced.
