This terrific program is five full days of intensive study. Join dance professionals from Broadway, university faculty, and students with a passion for dance in a 6-day intensive training academy.

This premiere program in musical theater dance styles offers daily workshops in dance disciplines such as jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop, from beginner to advanced. Evening programs for students will include a trip to the theater and interactive workshops on acting and singing for the dancer.

A letter of recommendation from a teacher is required prior to the beginning of camp. Enrollment for this program is limited.

Students check-in 9am on the first day of camp,or 2pm the day befoe camp begins.
Flights should arrive into LaGuardia or JFK on the day before camp begins before 2pm.
Flights should depart from LaGuardia or JFK on the last day of camp after 630pm.
Airport transportation is available to and from LaGuardia for $30 each way,
or JFK for $50 each way,
or Port Authority bus station for $25 each way,
or Penn Station for $25 each way.

Artistic Directors

Baayork Lee, Artistic Director
Baayork Lee is currently represented on Broadway through her restaging of the original choreography of A Chorus Line. She has performed in a dozen Broadway shows and created the role of Connie in A Chorus Line. Ms. Lee was Michael Bennett's assistant choreographer on A Chorus Line and has directed many national and international companies. Her directing credits include: The King and I and Bombay Dreams (national tours), R&H's Cinderella (NYC Opera), Barnum (Australia), Carmen Jones (Kennedy Center), Porgy and Bess and Jesus Christ Superstar (European tour), Gypsy and A New Brain. Choreography credits: Arena Stage (Washington, DC): Cocoanuts, Camelot, Damn Yankees, Helen Hayes nomination for Animal Crackers and South Pacific; Washington Opera; Kennedy Center: Goya, Sly and The Merry Widow. Co-author of On the Line: The Creation of A Chorus Line and recipient of 2003 Asian Woman Warrior Award for Lifetime Achievement from Columbia College. Visit her website achorusline.org

Justin Greer, Program Director
Currently in pre-production for Shrek, the musical, was recently nominated by the BATCC for Best Leading Actor for his portrayal of the title character in the northern California premiere of Bat Boy: The Musical. Broadway: Urban Cowboy, Seussical the Musical, Annie Get Your Gun. Justin's theatre education company is called Moveable Arts and can be found on the web at www.moveablearts.org.

Location Information

NDG logo Pearl Studios with its beautiful floor to ceiling mirrors and sprung floors teems with Broadway rehearsal activity day and night. Students can expect to see current and pre-opening rehearsals in progress as they come and go from their classes. Located in a secure building at 500 8th Avenue between 35th and 36th Pearl Studios is an ideal location to house the training sessions for our students. Not only will you feel inspired by your faculty and classmates, but you will "rub elbows" with current Broadway stars as you all come and go in the elevators, lounges, and studios.
