Digital Film Camp Details

Challenge your imagination with our Digital Film Camp! Students will drink, eat, and sleep movies! Each morning begins with a production meeting. Students will view and critique film sequences and movies made by past campers. By the end of the first day of our film camp students will have delved deep into understanding the movie-making process by completing a short, five shot exercise in camera. Students will be working with state-of-the-art digital cameras, Apple computers, and Final Cut Pro editing software. In groups of five to six, students will develop, write, storyboard, direct, act, shoot, and edit their own movie. The students' final finished products will be screened at the "Works in Progress" showing on the last day of the program. Featured guest speakers will talk about their work on Hollywood movies and the professional life of storyboarding, cinematography and editing. With our Digital Filmmaking Camp, students will gain an in-depth understanding of how movies are put together shot by shot. The week is intensive, filled with new information, new friends, and fun!

Our campers have drawn on their experiences at our camps to determine which direction they will take in pursuing a higher education. Many of our campers who have attended the Digital Filmmaking Camp have continued their studies in some of the best film schools in America. Some of our Digital Filmmaking alumni now attend film schools at USC, New York University, Chapman University, Loyola-Marymount, UCLA, and Cal Arts to name a few.
